Didn't realise he was going to be the joker - but looks good.  Not a bad actor either

Christian Bale again, though much will be the same I think they suit is being brought down to a more cloth level, IE not as advanced as the first one.

Thankfully too Tom Cruises bird (yes I cant remember her name lol) has been dropped.

It looks like he has stitches. Maybe they are going for the Chelsea smiler look.

Can't wait for this.

I lvoe the idea of the cloth suit. It would be great it they bought the colour to match a bit more closely the comic. That would be cool.

Also will be interesting to hear how he talks and laughs as the joker.

I loved Mark Hamill's voice work on the animated series, hope Ledger can be just as good. I think Hamill was in the running at one point...

Well considering how the cloth suits looked in Spiderman and Superman, their is alot they can do with it, would like to see the dark gray/ black used in the comics.

Be interesting to hear how ledger is playing it, though alot of people raised there eybrows when they cassted Bale as the Batman, and IMO, he did it remarkably well, they best I have seen on screen.

Though there has been a mention that Ledger will be playing the Joker closer to the comics, IE with a permanent smile/grin etched into his face.

Its looking good, High praise from Micheal Caine on Ledgers performance so far.....

“I tell you the big surprise in the new ‘Batman’ — Heath Ledger as the Joker,” Caine told reporters in New York Tuesday. “He’s fantastic. He’s gone in a different direction than Jack (Nicholson) … Jack was like a really scary old, nasty old uncle with a funny face. Heath is like the most murderous psychopath you’ve ever seen on the screen,” Caine said.

“I was waiting for Batman’s guests, but (the Joker) had taken over the elevator with — he has seven dwarfs and… oh! wait until you see them. So, I’d never seen any of it and the elevator door opened and they came out and I forgot every bloody line. They frightened the bloody life out of me …. It’s amazing and it’s so different from Jack.”

Some more pics and abit of a spoiler plot outline...........nothing major tho.

The Dark Knight begins with the Joker robbing a huge bank (we’ve seen photos of this everywhere). The bank is where the mob and all the gangs in Gotham keep all of their money. The Joker takes this money and holds it “ransom”. The Joker then says to the mob and the gangs of Gotham, “If you help me take down Batman, you’ll get your money back. If not, I’m going to burn it all.” This is how the Joker assembles his army to take down Batman.

Can't wait for this.

Shame they dropped the cloth suit idea though. I was reading somewhere that Bale said the costume for the first time allows the actor playing batman to turn their head as there is freedom in the cowl. In all the previous batman films the actor had to turn their whole body to look.

I was thinking that about the suit, but if you look closly you can see its more of a padded affair, what looks like cloth in the joints, where before it was one big suit, this one looks more (for a better word), military.

they're going to kill Batman? Why?

I remember when Bane broke his back and confined him to a wheelchair but he came back.

Mind you the comic writers know what they are doing the storylines are always excellent.
