Do Sony Make a Blu Ray Player????

No is the answer, As with all of there home entertainment products of late they are badged players, this time as with the recorders they are Pioneer. Unfortunately this has not stopped them from suffering mass falure of the BD Drive. Hopefully the replacement ones dated March 2008 will last.

They seem happy to out sell them to plenty of poeple, I wonder if they are waiting for their mistakes so they can avoid making their own, this and the rising reports of BR drive failures in the PS3, always wondered how this would do in real world long term. Should add also that yes, Sony make a large range of their own Players, no doubt plenty of bits out-sourced, but thats pretty much every electronics company under the sun these days. Also I wonder how much the fact its an in-complete format hinders them?

Who remembers the days when in the early nineties a Sony product meant you were buying a Sony product? None of this re-badged nonsense.

Sony have been in financial difficulties for some years now, the electrical manufacturing side that is, and the way this industry is going they will become a trading name like Bush Mission or Dennon to name a few. Then the fun will begin not knowing what's going to appear when you take the lid off

Looks pretty good with that kinda price, tho no DTS which I have preferred in the past, (havent experienced HD-DTS).
