Ha, Richer Sounds have them for £400, so if you have a chance bes tthing to do is call in and ask for a listen, check out the other stuff/ system they can offer, they always ALWAYS have deal going on in store!, plus you get to hear them!

Think they do projectors too now 

Just had a quick look, I think you might be predicting the future on the projector front! LOL

Saw the speakers last night and they seem pretty good and they DO sell projectors

Yes, but I didn't get to turn them up and listen for distortion etc

In an apartment, youre gonna make some friendly neighbours lol.....

Anything decent in the projection part?

I live on the top floor, no one above, or next to me and I have concrete floors covered with insulation then wood/slate so the good times can roll!!! LOL

Not too much in the projector department  They had one cheap projector in store but it wasn’t hooked up.
 
I’m really not sure what make/model to go for! I’m struggling to find any shops with working projectors (I managed to see 2 at electronics street, Tottenham Court Road) and everyone has widely differing views.
 
I know £1000 isn’t a lot for a system, but it’s a lot of money to regret a decision. Normally with electronics goods there is 2 or 3 models with clear advantages over the field but this doesn’t seem to be the case with projectors.

The problem is thery arnt really main stream enough to ge them enough warrented attention, so high street shops are going to have little to do with them , even less so in the higher market bracket.

Hmm if projectors were more mainstream there would be more user reviews and hence I would probably have a stronger idea of the top contenders.
 
As it is I am left floundering in a world of unreviewed products!

The optimas do very with owners ive seen about, dont know much about the Sony, tho like I said, like for like poeple seem to want the Sony's more.

Hmmm the sales team at Projector point said the optimas was a better projector with its true 1080p.....maybe just sales chatter as the sony has 1:12000 contrast....
 
 

Well mate certainly looking around from what I have seen ALOT of people have, own optimas, and considering the market will be more fo people like yourself trying to make the best decision and not just a blind sale, that cant be a bad thing lol.

Very True! I think I'll keep reading reviews if you don't have a firm fav and see what I find!
